DANIEL HURTADO JIMENEZ

Daniel Hurtado Jimenez – violin 

Born in Madrid, he began his musical studies at the age of 6 at the Andana Academy.

Intermediate Degree at the Professional Conservatory of Music Adolfo Salazar with teachers Víctor Correa and Farid Fasla, obtaining the “Extraordinary End of Middle Grade Award”. He finished his Superior studies  with Rolando Prusack and Nicolás Chumachenco, winning the grant awarded by the Ibercaja bank which led him to perform in duo with piano all over Spain.

Master in Violin-Tango in Codarts, University of Arts (Holland), with Micha Molthoff.

In 2013 he won the first prize in the category for chamber music in the International Accordion Festival competition in Beijing (China). He has worked with prestigious figures in tango world such as Sebastián Prusak, Víctor Hugo Villena, Gustavo Beytelmann, Quinteto “El Después”, Martín Alvarado and Nuevo Quinteto Real among others.

He is part of numerous tango groups as a violinist, artistic and musical director in Europe and China performing in some of the most important venues and festivals such as the “Mozart” hall of  Zaragoza Auditorium, Beijing National Theater, Shanghai Culture Square, Strawberry Festival in Beijing, Shanghai World Music Festival, “Double Eight” Festival, RASA Theater, International Tango Festival in Tarbes among others. In 2018 the documentary about his quintet in China has been premiered on CCTV (Central Television of China).
